It is because of the various types of plywood options available and each of them have its unique function. Let me tell you more about it.

How Many Types of Plywood Used in Interior?

Mr. Nelson has enlisted a few kinds of plywood but has missed a few other important ones. Let me tell you about them,

• Sanded Plywood:

  We use these plywood sheets for places like bookcases, panels, shelves, and more. As a result, during the manufacturing process of such plywood, the top and bottom plies are very finely sanded and the surface is made smooth. 

• Structural Plywood:

  We use structural plywood generally for permanent buildings. They have an uneven surface, but even then these are incredibly sturdy. 

• Decorative plywood:

  Decorative plywood, as the name suggests, is used for various decorative spots in the house. I usually suggest decorative plywood like veneer, laminate, and decorative paper overlays for interiors to clients. 

• Blockboard plywood:

  Blockboard is another distinguished variety that I absolutely love because of its remarkable strength and stability. It is the perfect material for creating doors and panels for contemporary interiors, where durability and resistance are crucial.

1. Marine Plywood: Marine plywood is specifically designed for exterior applications and exposure to moisture. It is made from high-quality hardwood veneers with waterproof glue, making it resistant to rot, warping, and delamination, even in harsh marine environments.

1. Moisture Resistant (MR) Plywood: MR plywood is treated with resins to resist moisture and humidity. 

1. Boiling Water Resistant (BWR) Plywood: BWR plywood is treated with resins to withstand exposure to boiling water and high humidity. 

1. Boiling Water Proof (BWP) Plywood: BWP plywood is the most moisture-resistant type, specially formulated to withstand prolonged exposure to water and humidity. 

1. Veneer Core Plywood: Veneer core plywood features a core made from hardwood veneers, sandwiched between thin layers of decorative plywood.

1. Lumber Core Plywood: Lumber core plywood provides exceptional strength and rigidity, making it suitable for structural applications such as beams, shelves, and long span flooring.
