You can go through the below-given steps to assist you with how to get rid of water stains on wood;

  • Using Oil

According to him, when it comes to how to get water stains out of wood, Mayonnaise or Petroleum Jelly works like magic. He told me to take a small amount and apply it to the stain and scrub the area gently with a cloth.

  • Using Dry Heat

Another great method is to use a Iron or a hair dryer over the stain. For using the Iron he told me to keep a dry towel or cloth over the stain and then use the Iron for 10 seconds at a time. For the hair dryer, he told me to set it to low and go back and forth over the stain for about 10 minutes.

  • Using Mild Abrasives

He said that by mild abrasives he means toothpaste, baking soda or salt. I was asked to add a few drops of water to any of these and make a paste and scrub gently with those.

And that’s about it for how to remove water marks on wood.

How to clean white wood furniture ?

Hello, I once saw water marks on my wooden table, which destroyed the whole look of the furniture. So, I looked up how to remove water marks from wood and found a few working DIY methods. From what I can recall, household items like white vinegar, olive oil and baking soda give good results.

How to Remove a Water Stain from Wood?

In this process, I’ll show you how to get rid of water stains using white vinegar.

  1. You should start by mixing distilled white vinegar and water in a small container in equal proportions.

  2. Use a microfiber cloth and soak it in the solution you’ve just made.

  3. Wring out the cloth so that the solution doesn’t drip.

  4. Now, what you’ll do is place the cloth over the watermarks and press the cloth down slowly and gently. Make sure that you cover the whole watermark.

  5. Let it undisturbed for about an hour.

  6. Take off the cloth from the water stain and see if the stain has lifted or not.

  7. If you’re still able to see the stain, take baking soda and sprinkle some of it over the stain.

  8. Add a few drops of white vinegar over the baking soda.

  9. This will cause a bit of fizz and bubbles, but you don’t need to worry about it.

  10. Take a soft-bristled brush, and then rub it over the stain till you see it lifting.

  11. Use a clean and damp cloth to remove the baking soda and white vinegar from the surface.

  12. Then, use olive oil by dabbing it onto a clean microfiber cloth and rubbing it into the wood. Use a circular motion as it helps in bringing back the wood’s shine.

  13. For the last step regarding how to remove water marks wood, use a natural wood cleaner, and apply it over a microfiber cloth to wipe the surface clean.

This is all I have to share.  I hope this will help you learn how to remove water marks from wood.
