Summary
Installing WetWall panels involves preparing and cleaning the wall, measuring and cutting panels, and applying suitable adhesive. Position the first panel carefully and ensure proper alignment. Join subsequent panels using tongue-and-groove edges and seam sealer. Cut openings for fixtures accurately and seal all corners and joints properly. This helps create a clean, waterproof, durable, and attractive bathroom finish.

As an interior designer, I find WetWall panels a simple and stylish alternative to traditional bathroom tiles. They can give your bathroom a clean, modern, and waterproof finish. The installation involves a few important steps, including preparing the wall, measuring and cutting the panels, applying adhesive, joining the panels, and sealing the corners.

How to Install WetWall Panels Step by Step?

  • First, clean the wall thoroughly and make sure it is dry, smooth, and free from dust, grease, or loose material. A properly prepared surface helps the adhesive bond securely.

  • Next, measure the wall and decide how you will position each panel.

    • Mark the locations of shower fittings, taps, and other fixtures before cutting the panels.

    • This helps you avoid mistakes and reduce material wastage.

  • Before applying adhesive, clean the back of each WetWall panel as recommended by the manufacturer. This ensures better contact between the panel and adhesive.

  • Now, apply the recommended adhesive to the back of the panel according to the manufacturer's instructions. Spread it properly so the panel gets a strong and even bond.

  • Carefully place the first panel against the wall and press it firmly into position. Check that it is perfectly level, as the first panel will determine the alignment of the remaining panels.

  • Apply colour-matched seam sealer to the tongue of the first panel.

    • Then, position the next panel and carefully join the tongue-and-groove edges.

    • If the panels are large, use tile-setting suction cups to make handling easier.

  • Before fixing the panel, carefully measure and mark the locations of shower fixtures, taps, and other fittings. Cut the required openings using a hole saw or jigsaw.

  • Finally, apply the recommended seam sealer to all corners and joints to prevent water from entering behind the panels. For outside corners, you can use suitable trims or bullnose edges for a neat, finished appearance.

I hope you now know how to install WetWall panels properly for a clean, waterproof, and durable bathroom finish.
