Hey there. To understand how to fix a cracked tile without replacing it, you can read the steps I am going to list below. I also faced small chips in my tiles a while back. It wasn’t possible for me to replace the tiles completely, so I thought of fixing them. I used a proper grouting method for this.
How to Fix Cracked Tiles without Replacing?
Begin by properly cleaning the damaged tile and its surroundings. This is an important step if the damage has been there for a while and dirt has accumulated.
For chipped or cracked regions with sharp edges, you may have to lightly sand the damaged region with a fine-grit sandpaper.
Then, use a damp, soft scrub brush and clean the region with it by dipping it in a solution of dish soap.
Once clean, ensure you dry the area completely, especially if there is standing water.
Look for a grout that matches the colour of your tiles or comes as close as possible.
Follow the manufacturer’s guidelines to mix the grout.
Take a grout float to apply the mixed grout over the affected area.
Wipe off the extra grout using the same float.
Let the grout set, which will take around 30 minutes.
Use a grout sponge to remove any residue.
If the cracks are shallow and the surface has small surface chips, you can paint with a water-based paint that matches the tile colour.
This is all you need to do.
