Being a Bangalorian, I can understand how tough it is to find good owners and rent apartments. I would therefore like to help you learn how to find landlords in my area. The best way is to use some app rather than do the landlord/apartment hunting physically. I have been using the NoBroker app for almost three years now so let me share how beneficial it is to find landlords.

How Do I Find Landlords in My Area?

The best way to find landlords in a particular area is to use a reliable app like the NoBroker app. You just need to

  • Open the app or Visit the

    NoBroker Tenant portal
  • Click on the option Rent

  • Enter 3 locations or landmarks

  • Click on Search

  • You will get to see a list of properties along with owner details

This is how you can find landlords through it easily. I find the NoBroker app to be the smoothest and easiest to operate; hence, I will advise you to use it. Other apps you can also use are:

  • Facebook

  • MagicBricks

  • 99Acres or others

You can ask a few neighbours to help you find landlords in an area but it will be time-consuming and tiring.

I would like to share my experience to answer your question: can landlord charge for repairs after moving out? After almost two weeks of moving out, the landlord of my former apartment called me and asked for money to repair some aspects of the apartment. I initially decided to pay it but a lawyer friend of mine advised me not to. You need to pay only for repairs and damages caused by you. Let me elaborate a bit on this topic.

Should You Pay for Repairs after Moving Out?

Dear, do not be a fool and pay repair charges as soon as your landlord asks, especially after moving out. Repair charges need to be paid by landlords and most of the landlords do take maintenance charges, so any extra charges should be covered. In fact, in most cases, landlords deduct a month’s rent from the deposit amount and pay us the rest so why should a tenant be paying again?

But if you damage any of their property to quite some extent, you are liable to pay for it. The best way is to read the terms and conditions of your rental agreement and understand whether you are liable to pay for the repairs or not.

These are the basic rules that are followed. It is better to have a detailed talk with the landlord and ask him why should pay for the repairs. In case of doubt, seek a legal expert’s advice.
