Here’s how to clean Gree air conditioner,
Switch off your Gree air conditioner and unplug it from the main power source. This prevents electrical accidents and keeps the process safe.
Gently lift the front panel of the AC. It should open smoothly with a slight click. Do not force it, as the panel is designed for easy access.
Carefully slide out the mesh filters located behind the panel. Handle them gently to avoid tearing or bending.
Check the filters for dust buildup, damage, or stains. If they appear worn out or torn, consider replacing them instead of cleaning.
Clean the filters using lukewarm water and a small amount of mild detergent. Use a soft brush to remove dirt. Avoid hot water, bleach, or harsh chemicals, as they can damage the filter material.
Place the filters in a shaded and well-ventilated area to dry. Do not expose them to direct sunlight or use artificial heat, as this may warp the mesh.
Once fully dry, slide the filters back into their original position. Ensure they fit securely.
Plug in the unit and switch it on. You should notice improved airflow and cooling performance.
I hope this helps!

Hi there! In Gree ACs, there’s an auto-clean function in the indoor unit which can automatically clean down the air conditioner. We generally use this feature along with cleaning the filters once a month. It’s also important to get the AC professionally cleaned every 5-6 months for better cooling. Anyway, let me tell you how to clean Gree air conditioner using the self-cleaning function.
How to Clean a Gree Air Conditioner?
To clean the filters, you can use a vacuum cleaner or simply rinse them in water. Here’s a few steps you can take to clean the filters of your Gree AC.
First, remove the filters by pushing forward on the handle tabs and lifting them up.
Then rinse them thoroughly or use a vacuum if you want. Don’t scrub them or use any hard brush to clean them, as it can damage the filters.
Now, under the indoor unit off status, hold the ‘Mode’ and ‘Fan’ buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds to turn the Auto-clean function on.
The indoor unit will display ‘CL’ and the unit will heat up and cool quickly. You will also hear a sound of flowing liquid or thermal expansion.
That’s how you can use the auto-clean feature; just make sure the room is well-ventilated during the time. Although we use this function once every month, we also get our
AC unit professionally cleaned and serviced from NoBrokerevery 6 months to keep up the cooling efficiency.
