The basic steps on how to service split AC at home with pressure washer,

  1. Turn off power supply: Switch off the AC from the main power source and unplug it. Never service your split AC while it is connected to electricity.

  2. Prepare the area: Cover nearby walls, furniture, and electrical parts with plastic sheets. Place a cleaning bag or bucket under the indoor unit to collect dirty water.

  3. Open the indoor unit: Lift the front panel and remove the air filters. Take out any detachable parts carefully to access internal components.

  4. Dry clean first: Use a soft brush or vacuum to remove loose dust from filters, coils, and fins. This prevents mud formation when using water.

  5. Clean filters separately: Wash the filters with water and mild detergent. Let them dry completely in shade before reinstalling.

  6. Use pressure washer on indoor unit: Use a low-pressure setting to spray water on the evaporator coil and blower. Avoid spraying directly on electrical parts and PCB. Maintain a safe distance to prevent damage.

  7. Clean the outdoor unit: Spray the condenser coil using moderate pressure to remove dirt, dust, and debris. Ensure proper airflow by cleaning all sides.

  8. Check the drain pipe: Flush the drain pipe with water to remove clogs and ensure smooth water flow.

  9. Let everything dry: Allow the unit to dry completely before reassembling. Moisture in electrical parts can cause damage.

  10. Reassemble and test: Reinstall filters and close the panel. Turn on the AC and check cooling performance.

Regular servicing improves efficiency and extends AC life.
