Summary
To service a split AC at home using a jet wash, first switch off and unplug the power. Open the indoor unit, remove filters, and clean them with water. Cover electronic parts before cleaning. Use a soft brush for dust, then a jet wash on fins from a safe distance. Clean the outdoor unit, dry everything, and reassemble carefully.

Here is how to service split AC at home with jet wash like a pro:

  • First switch off the power and unplug the AC. Safety comes first, so never skip this step.

  • Then open the indoor unit front panel carefully. If your panel is a bit weak or broken, handle it slowly so it does not crack more.

  • Next, remove the air filters. You will usually find two filters inside. Take them out gently. These filters collect most of the dust, so they will look very dirty.

  • Now open the front cover by removing all screws and clips. Be careful because plastic clips can break easily.

  • After this, you will see the inner fins, blower area, and electronic parts. Do not touch or wet the electronic section. Cover it with a plastic sheet or cloth.

  • Start cleaning the dust using a soft brush first. Brush slowly in one direction, not randomly, so you do not damage the fins. Remove loose dust properly.

  • After brushing, wash the filters and plastic parts using normal water

  • For deep cleaning, you can use a jet wash on the metal fins of the indoor unit.

    • Spray from a safe distance so dust comes out without bending the fins.

    • You will see dirty water coming out, which means cleaning is working.

  • For the outdoor unit, again remove dust and spider webs using a jet wash. But avoid very high pressure because it can bend the fins. A medium pressure setting works best.

  • After cleaning both units, let everything dry completely. Then assemble all parts back carefully, fix screws, and close panels properly.

  • Finally, switch on the AC and check airflow. You will feel stronger and cooler air if cleaning is done correctly.

I hope you know how to service a split AC at home using a jet wash like a pro.
