Here is how to clean AC cooling coil,

  1. First, turn off the power. Switch off the air conditioner and unplug it from the power source. This step is very important because it helps prevent electrical accidents while you clean the unit.

  2. Next, remove the AC cover. Many air conditioners have a removable front panel or cover. Carefully take it off so you can see the cooling coils inside the unit.

  3. After that, gather the tools and materials you need. You will need a coil cleaner, a soft brush such as a paintbrush or toothbrush, a fin comb, a garden hose or spray bottle with water, gloves, and safety glasses. These tools help you clean the coil safely and properly.

  4. Now start cleaning the evaporator coil. Use the soft brush to gently remove dust, dirt, and small debris from the coil surface. Do not press too hard because the coil fins are thin and can bend easily.

  5. After brushing, spray the coil cleaner directly on the coil. Let the cleaner stay on the coil for the time written on the product label. The cleaner will loosen and break down the dirt.

  6. Then rinse the coil. Use a spray bottle or a gentle stream of water to wash away the cleaner and dirt. Make sure you do not use too much water.

  7. Next, clean the condenser coil on the outdoor unit. Remove leaves, dust, and other large debris around the unit. Brush the coil gently and apply coil cleaner. After a few minutes, rinse it with water. If you see bent fins, use a fin comb to straighten them.

  8. Finally, check the unit for leaks or damage. When everything is clean and dry, put the cover back and turn the power on. Clean the AC coils every six months to keep the air conditioner working well and cooling properly.

I hope you now understand the step-by-step process for cleaning the AC coil properly.
