Last year, I received a high gas bill and I was pretty sure that the bill amount should have been lesser. I wanted to calculate the gas bill on my own but I wasn’t aware of the process. I called my uncle, who used to work in a Gas agency, and asked him how to calculate Gujarat gas bill.
What is the Gujarat Gas Bill Calculation Process?
My uncle told me that, the process is rather simple and I can calculate the amount by following the steps he mentioned.
He told me that I needed to first determine the amount of Guajrat gas delivered. For that, he asked me to calculate the difference between the amount of gas consumed between the current month and the previous month.
Then he asked me to multiply this figure by the conversion factor to find the amount of energy consumed in kWh.
Next, he asked me to find the bill amount by multiplying the energy consumed by the price per kWh.
After that, he provided me with an example, which is
Suppose the Gas meter reading in March 2023 is 27 000 m³ and April 2024: 29 100 m³.
Then, the monthly consumption becomes 29 100 m³ - 27 032 m³ = 2100 m³
Converting the amount to kWh it becomes 2100 m³ x 9.9 kWh/m³ = 20 790 kWh
Now, multiply this number by price per kWh (assuming Rs 0.06/kWh) =20,790 kWh x Rs. 0.06 =Rs. 1,247.40
