I am getting some painting work done in my old house. In that house, my father used marble tiles. So, I asked my painter can I paint over marble? He said yes, you can paint over marble. It is a popular method for updating marble surfaces without the high cost of replacement. However, it requires the right paint and proper preparation to ensure a long-lasting finish. He also explained the painting process to me, which I added below.

Can I Paint Marble?
My painter told me to paint marble tiles in the following 3 simple steps.
First, we need to roughen up the marble so the paint sticks. You can either use an acid to remove the top layer or sand it down. Tape off the area and cover the floor to make sure you don’t make a mess.
After sanding, wipe everything down to remove the dust.
Now apply a primer, especially designed for marble. Go on evenly, either by spraying or brushing it on.
After the primer dries, start painting. Apply thin coats and let each one dry before applying the next.
Finally, leave your marble to dry.
I hope you found this helpful.
