My family has been following vastu for a long time. In 2018, we decided to buy a house in Vasai. There were many questions which popped up during the process which could only be answered by a Vastu counsellor. One such question was as per vastu how many steps in entrance of the house are good. I am sharing what he told us about it. Main Entrance Steps as per Vastu He suggested that entrance steps to house as per vastu should be in odd numbers. Stairs are usually of 13, 15, 17, 19 or 21 steps. He said that we should keep their right foot forward while climbing down the stairs. Since a major chunk of the population puts forth their right foot while climbing stairs initially, it is only possible to have an odd number of stairs to arrive at that solution. Some other tips he shared with us for number of entrance steps as per vastu were:
  • The stairs should go in clockwise direction
  • An external staircase should be in the south-east direction, south west or north west direction.
  • In a house, it is best to have the internal staircase in south west direction
  • Stairs should not start or end at kitchen, puja room or store room
