Shastri Nagar is connected with K.R. Road and Nagasandra Main Road. You can get bus stop on KR Road within 500 m. BMTC buses are frequent.

Living in Shastri Nagar for 5 years. It has a peaceful and old-Bangalore charm. Streets are quiet in the evenings. There are tree-lined roads, parks and lakes nearby.

The roads in Shastri Nagar are wide and in good condition. It is a good place to live with family. There are some good CBSE and ICSE board private schools and state government schools near to this locality. For health emergencies, there are hospitals, clinics and medicine shops within a short distance.

The locality has several green spaces. Beside the roads, you can see line of trees. Here, we get some parks like Kurpad Gundappa Shamanna Park just minutes away. There are also a few smaller parks.

Getting around from here is simple because the South End Circle metro station is quite close. Finding cheap PG rooms is tough though, as rents are high, but the quiet streets make it a nice place to study.

This area is super calm and filled with big trees. I stay near the Yediyur Lake side and daily walking is a joy, plus groceries are just a minute away. Only issue is finding car parking on the narrow lanes.

The inner lanes here are very safe and peaceful. There are great old schools and small parks nearby, so daily life is sorted. It feels like a proper old Bangalore residential area, totally away from the main city noise.

Travelling to work is fine but the evening traffic jam near the Kanakapura Road junction is getting worse daily. Autos also ask for double the fare if you try to book them during peak office hours.

Garbage clearance by the BBMP is a bit erratic on our street. Sometimes the waste collection auto does not come for 2 days, and people just leave bags near the corner. It smells bad and spoils the clean lane.

Walking mornings inside the Shastri Nagar parks is very peaceful. The footpaths on the main roads are slightly uneven, but the residential colony roads have very less traffic, making it perfect for elderly people.

Finding a spot to park your car near the local temples or markets is an absolute headache. The lanes are narrow and completely packed with residents' vehicles, so I always take a metro or auto here.

Property prices here are sky-high because it is a prime, settled part of South Bangalore. Rental income is very steady and you get premium tenants, but finding land or a flat for sale is extremely rare.

The water supply is quite regular, we get Cauvery water every alternate morning without any fail. It is a huge relief because we do not have to spend extra money on private water tankers like other areas.

A small spell of heavy rain and the roads near the main playground look like a river... The old drains cannot handle the water and it takes hours to recede. Driving a bike through it is a big risk.
