About Gorai

Gorai is located in the northwestern part of Mumbai, India. It is situated at Dharavi Bhet and is usually accessed by a ferry crossing Manori Creek, Gorai Creek, or the overland route through Bhayander. The Gorai pin code is 400092. The locality is in the vicinity of the Vasai, Mira-Bhayandar, Thane, and Nalasopara. 

The Dharavi Bhet is a peninsula that lies in the north-east part of Mumbai. It shares its borders with Manori, Uttan, Pali, Chowk, Dongri, Tarodi, Rai, Morva, and Murdhe villages. The island was reachable by boat earlier, but the development of the Ghodbunder Creek, the massive reclamation of the tidal inlets and the urbanization converted it into the peninsula. Until the 1980s, Gorai was renowned for its palm trees and beaches. Today, Gorai has seen significant changes with a well-developed infrastructure and amenities, making it an ideal residential place to live in.

Living here with my family has been a good experience. The area is safe and neighbors are friendly. Public transport is limited so it's better to have a vehicle of your own.

Have been living in Gorai for 12 years now. The area has a village-like charm but with all essential amenities close by. The greenery makes it peaceful. But during summers, water shortages are common.

Being close to nature is refreshing. The beaches are clean, and the air quality is better than other parts of Mumbai.

As an investor, I feel Gorai's natural beauty makes it ideal for eco-tourism projects. The demand is growing, but infrastructure needs improvement to support large-scale investments.

Our company organized a retreat here. The resorts are decent, and the environment is conducive to relaxation. But mobile network connectivity was weak in some areas.
