I used a lemon and salt combination to remove rust stains from my bathtub.
When I asked mom how to remove rust stains from plastic bathtub, she advised that I should be careful with the quantity and application of lemon on damaged area.
I took lemon juice in a bowl and added salt to it. I dipped a mild scrub and gently started scrubbing off the rust from the bathtub. It took a little time to process but eventually, I was able to get rid of them using a microfibre cloth.
