It is very hard to concentrate on work if you hear a lot of sound coming from outside. My brother too failed to concentrate on his studies. There was a construction project going on in our locality and I came to know that it will take not less than 6 months to get completed. My family was determined to chalk out some plan and finally we came up with the idea to soundproof windows. Initially we thought it was going to be costly but no. If you plan well, you will get desired results also without spending too much money.  How to make windows soundproof without spending much money? Making windows soundproof is a great way to stop outside noises from disturbing you. Here are some ways that will help you to know how to soundproof windows:
  • Build a window plug, layers of acoustic foam, soundproof matting or wood filled in front of the windows to absorb the incoming sounds. The noise gets blocked by the mat and the wood backer boards after it comes through the foam. The best thing is, they can be easily installed as well as uninstalled.
  • Sometimes there are gaps or cracks beside the windows which let the incoming of sounds. You can fill them with acoustic sealant.
  • You can use quilted fibreglass panels which are thicker than curtains and denser as well. They are quite heavy to install but worth it.
  • You can install storm windows in front of the existing windows which serves as a barrier to sound transmission.
  • You can install an acrylic sheet in front of the existing windows and block the incoming sound waves.
