So, I asked my uncle, a civil engineer about the same. He said it involves preparing the base channels and glass placement, followed by applying high modulus sealant. What are the Steps to Install a Frameless Glass Railing?
Here are 10 steps to install the glass, my uncle informed me of.
You must first measure and mark the installation area, followed by drilling holes in the base channels, preparing the concrete surface, and insert expansion bolts.
Now, position the setting blocks on the base channels and place the glass panels onto the blocks.
You must adjust the glass alignment if required.
After that, insert shims underneath the glass panels and check the leveling.
Repeat the process for each panel.
You must now select a high modulus sealant and prepare it with a caulking gun.
Then, apply the sealant along the glass base, smooth it out and leave it to dry.
Now prepare the cap rail and apply glass sealant on the panels.
Position and secure the cap rail in place.
Finally, position and secure the cladding with the sealant, followed by allowing dry time.
