How to get Occupancy Certificate copy of an old building online?

Before constructing a building, you need to obtain different types of approval from the Government. One of them is an occupancy certificate. Without an occupancy certificate, you cannot reside in a building. Therefore, as a buyer, you need to check if a building has obtained an occupancy certificate. While purchasing a new flat, you can easily visit the RERA portal and check the status of the Occupancy certificate. But how to find occupancy certificate for old buildings. I will share with you how to get OC for old building online.

How to get building occupancy certificate online?

• Go to the BBMP website at:

• Navigate to the option Occupancy certificate details and hit on ‘click here’.

• You will be able to view the zone details like JDTP- North, JDTP- South, ADTP- East, etc. 

• Tap on the location you want and select the year. 

• Click on ‘click here’.

• You will have to generate the OC status of the property like this.

Alternatively, if the property is RERA registered you can visit the RERA website at:

• Navigate to ‘project status’.

• Fill in the details of the project and hit on ‘search’.

• Click on the project name.

• After getting redirected to the new page you will come across a tab ‘Completion details’.

• Tap on the completion details.

• You will be able to find the occupancy certificate along with a PDF attached to it.

• Tap on the PDF to check the OC certificate.
