Summary
BESCOM name transfer without NOC is possible by submitting ownership proofs (sale deed, Khata, EC, tax receipt), ID, and a ₹500 indemnity bond. Clear pending dues, fill Form-1/13, submit documents online or offline, verification occurs, and the name updates in 1–4 weeks.

The process to do a BESCOM (Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited) name transfer without a No Objection Certificate (NOC) is possible in certain situations, but it requires additional documents and verification. You can do it by submitting an Indemnity Bond on ₹500 stamp paper. I have shared below a step by step process on  how to do BESCOM name transfer without NOC.

How can I do BESCOM Name Transfer without NOC?

Normally, BESCOM asks for an NOC from the previous owner or builder to confirm there are no objections to transferring the electricity connection. However, if an NOC is not available, you can still proceed by providing strong ownership proof and legal documents that establish your right to the property.

  • To begin, visit the official BESCOM portal or go to the local subdivision office.

  • Request the BESCOM name transfer application form (Form-1 or Form-13).

  • You need to fill out the form. Enter details such as RR number, current consumer name, new owner name, address, and reason for transfer (like sale or inheritance).

  • After that, instead of an NOC, you must submit alternative documents such as:

    • A registered sale deed

    • Khata certificate

    • Latest property tax receipt

    • Encumbrance certificate (EC)

    • Identity proof like Aadhaar or PAN.

  • Additionally, BESCOM usually requires a notarised indemnity bond and power supply agreement on stamp paper. These documents act as a legal safeguard stating that you take full responsibility for the connection and any past or future liabilities.

  • You must also ensure that all pending electricity dues are cleared before applying, as unpaid bills can lead to rejection of the application.

  • Once the application and documents are submitted, BESCOM officials verify the details and may conduct a field inspection.

In complex cases without NOC, offline submission at the local office is often faster and more practical than the online route. After successful verification, the name is updated, usually within 1 to 4 weeks depending on the case. Hope you found the steps helpful.
