A few days back, I noticed some water stains on my sofa. I usually make this mistake while cleaning the sofa, as the water leaves marks after drying. So, I tried a simple cleaning method, and it helped me remove the stains. If you also have water stains on your sofa, I will tell you how you can clean them easily at home.
What are the Steps to Clean Water Stains from a Sofa?
First, take some distilled white vinegar and pour it into a clean spray bottle. Lightly spray the vinegar on the water stain.
If you do not have a spray bottle, take a clean cloth or paper towel, apply a small amount of vinegar to it, and gently dab the stained area.
Do not rub the sofa, as rubbing can spread the stain or damage the fabric.
Now, leave the vinegar on the stain for about 5 to 10 minutes.
After that, clean the spray bottle properly and fill it with distilled water. Lightly spray the distilled water over the same area and gently blot it with a clean, dry cloth.
If you can still see the water mark, repeat the same process once or twice. Do not use too much water because soaking the sofa can make it difficult to dry and may cause other problems.
Finally, let the sofa dry completely. Keep the windows open or use a fan to improve air circulation.
Before applying vinegar to the visible area, I always suggest testing it on a small hidden part of the sofa first. If the fabric is delicate or the stain remains, it is better to get professional sofa cleaning help.
