Nelamangala was once a small village located along the Nelamangala town road. Over the years, with rapid urbanization and growth of IT industry in Bengaluru, Nelamangala emerged as a developing suburb. The town witnessed a large influx of population working in Bengaluru due to availability of affordable housing options. Several residential layouts and townships were developed to accommodate the burgeoning housing needs. A number of factories and industries also came up, boosting the local economy. Today, Nelamangala is an emerging residential and commercial location well-connected to Bengaluru.
Nelamangala Bangalore is a mix of both urban and rural culture. Those living here include young working professionals and families working in the nearby cities of Bengaluru and Doddaballapur. Their fast-paced lifestyle contrasts with the laid-back village culture still prevalent in parts of Nelamangala. While most residents are engaged in IT, manufacturing or agriculture-based jobs, the culture still hangs onto tradition. Religious festivals are celebrated with fervour. People love their familial bonds and respect for elders is deeply ingrained. Peaceful weekend retreats to the countryside are a common escape from urbaniity. This unique blend of modern and village life add charm to Nelamangala.
I shifted to Nelamangala for the lower rent. It is away from the central city area and peaceful. Good if your office is on Tumkur Road. But travelling to city areas takes time.
Living here with my wife and kid. There are a few schools and clinics nearby. It is not crowded. For big hospitals or shopping, we have to go to nearby localities.
I am a resident of Nelamangala. We have a good neighbourhood, and local markets are close. But rains bring waterlogging, and drainage is very slow. The retail market is not very developed here.
Nelamangala is okay if you want to stay on a budget. Not very modern, but livable. Nearby markets are decent, and autos are available. The area does not have big malls or branded stores nearby.
I bought a plot in Nelamangala 4 years ago. It’s still a bit outside the main city, but I liked the price and open surroundings. Now slowly development is happening. I’ll wait another 5 years.
