Laggere is a popular locality in the western parts of Bangalore. It is a self-sufficient residential area as well as an industrial hub with plenty of scope for further development. It is in the same neighbourhood as Nandini Layout, Peenya, Kamla Nagar, and Kamakshipalya. Laggere is well-connected to the other parts of Bangalore via well-maintained roads and metro. Laggere pin code is 560058. Laggere falls under the Bangalore Urban District of Karnataka and has now turned into a full-fledged urban locality.
Tenants tend to stay long as everything they need is close. The locality is well settled, though some older homes require occasional touch ups. Overall, owning here feels stable.
I've been renting a 2 BHK in Laggere for the past year. The locality is peaceful, and my children's school is just a 10 minute walk away. Public transport is easily accessible, as there are three metros nearby, making my daily commute hassle-free. However, during the monsoon, some internal roads get waterlogged, which is a concern.
I chose Laggere for its affordability and connectivity. The Outer Ring Road is nearby, and I can reach my office in Peenya within 20 minutes. The area has all basic amenities, but there is no parks or leisure spots nearby.
Visited Laggere for a client meeting. The area is well-connected, and reaching here from the airport was straightforward. However, the signage could be better for first-time visitors.
Our home in Laggere is spacious and well-connected. The pricing is decent too, considering how safe and convenient the neighborhood is. Orion Mall is also around 5 kms away, which works perfectly for our shopping needs.
Explored Laggere during my Bangalore trip. The local temples and markets offer a glimpse into the city's culture. Streets looked vibrant, but cleanliness can be improved.

Most of what I read about Laggere online feels negative, and honestly, that worried me before I moved here. After living in Laggere for some time, my view has changed a bit. I like that I can step out and find vegetables, medical stores, and small shops within a short walk. Autos are easy to get, and reaching Peenya or the main road does not feel like a struggle. Over time, familiar shopkeepers and neighbours make daily life feel more comfortable. This makes me curious about others living here. What are the small good things about Laggere that you noticed only after staying here? What do outsiders usually miss?

I bought a home in Laggere thinking long term, believing the area would grow steadily over the years. At that time, the prices near Peenya and Sumanahalli made sense, and daily needs were close by. Now, after living here for some time, I find myself having mixed feelings. Some days, better roads and improved access give me confidence. On other days, traffic, crowding, and slow changes make me question my choice. I am curious to hear from others who invested in Laggere with a future plan. Do you still feel hopeful about the area, or have doubts started to set in after a few years?

My office is in central Bengaluru, and I am thinking of moving to Laggere because the rent looks more affordable. On maps, the commute seems manageable, but I want to know the real experience. For people travelling daily from Laggere towards Majestic or Malleshwaram, how is the morning rush? Are BMTC buses from Laggere Main Road frequent, or are they usually crowded? I also want to understand metro access. How easy is it to reach Peenya or Goraguntepalya Metro stations during peak hours?

I have been thinking about moving to Laggere, but one thing keeps bothering me, the noise. I keep hearing about factories nearby and the highway traffic, and it makes me wonder how daily life really feels there. During the day, does the sound keep coming in, or is it only during peak hours? Nights matter the most to me. I want to know if people can actually sleep peacefully. I am not asking about houses right next to the main road. I want to hear from people living inside inner lanes. Before making a decision, I just want honest experiences from residents who live there every day.

I am moving to Laggere next month and will be fully dependent on BMTC buses for my daily commute. Safety is a key concern for me, and I would like to understand how reliable bus connectivity from Laggere feels in everyday conditions. I am particularly looking for feedback from people who travel regularly via Laggere Main Road, near Laggere Bridge, and towards Peenya and Rajajinagar. Are buses frequent during morning and evening hours, and are waiting times manageable? I would also like to know how safe the main and inner bus stops feel during early mornings and late evenings. Honest, firsthand experiences from daily commuters would be helpful.

I am planning to move to Laggere along with my family, as I came to know that the rental rates are low in that area. I want to know if it works well for kids. As my kid is turning 6 this year, I wanted to know if there are any good schools nearby, also what about the basic needs nearby? Does it feel safe and comfortable for families? I am trying to understand if Laggere is only suitable for working adults or if it can support family life too.

My experience has been mixed. But i have come to understand that Laggere doesn't impress you on day one. it settles on you slowly. I have come to appreciate the walkability on this area. especially if you live on quieter lanes, shops, ATMs, tailoring, supermarkets, eateries everything is easy to get. I also like the people here, very warm, helpful and kind. As a woman living alone, it has never felt unsafe

One thing I noticed after moving here from East Bangalore, you can find a plumber, electrician, or a mechanic in 5 minutes. Being so close to the Peenya Industrial ecosystem means there’s an army of skilled people living nearby. Whether you need a bike serviced or a custom metal gate made, the industrial vibe actually works in your favor for home maintenance. It’s affordable, fast, and you don't have to wait 3 days for an Urban Company booking.

I am actually in the same boat da. Bought a property 4 years ago because connectivity looked good and there was scope for growth which has happened in many cases but we still have a lot to work on. While there has been more apartments, better access to Rajajinagar and more local shops and infrastructure, the civic stuffs like roads and drainage are lagging. It slightly feels unplanned. I’m still betting big on Laggere because of the metro. We’re just a 10-minute jump from Goraguntepalya and Peenya metro stations. Since places like Malleshwaram have become insanely expensive, everyone is looking at Laggere as the next best affordable spot. Even giant builders like Godrej and Prestige are setting up massive projects right next door in Yeshwanthpur. When the big players move in, property prices in our backyard are bound to skyrocket. It’s only a matter of time.

Honestly, morning rush is real. The map makes it look way simpler than it really is. In my experience, BMTC buses are pretty frequent but gets very crowded during 8-9pm. so if you're starting early, around 6:30-7 am then you'll have a smooth experience. No direct metro from here so it'll be hard to reach there in the first place

The metro is nearby, but getting a Rapido/Ola/Uber auto to Goraguntepalya or Peenya Industry metro station at 9 AM is like winning the lottery. They’ll either cancel or ask for extra tips because of the traffic jams at the junctions. If you don't have your own vehicle to drop at the metro parking, the easy metro access becomes a daily headache of negotiating with auto drivers.

Tbh it actually depends a lot on where exactly you live inside Laggere. If you’re right on a main road or close to the highway or the Peenya industrial stretch, you’ll hear traffic noise plus trucks and honking all day long. But if you’re a few streets inside the residential lanes it’s way calmer

Honestly, compared to living in HSR or Indiranagar, Laggere inner lanes are actually quieter. We don't have pubs or loud speakers late at night. The industrial noise people talk about is mostly in Peenya Stage 1 & 2. Most of Laggere is just middle-class families. Just keep some plants on your balcony, it helps with the dust and the sound.

Broo when I moved here I was also lowkey worried about the internet but good news is you can get solid fibre here most places. ACT, Airtel, Spectra, Hathway all of them have coverage in many pockets. I’m on ACT fibre and haven’t had major drops during my Zoom calls even in the inner lanes.

Hey..I live in Laggere too, actually I'm doing work from home, since a year now . Internet has improved a lot here in the last few years. I am also using ACT Fibernet, and it works well for daily office work, calls, and meetings. Many people in my street use the same connection, so issues get fixed fairly fast. I have also seen Airtel Xstream Fiber and JioFiber in nearby lanes. Inner streets may take some time for setup, but once installed, it runs fine. I keep mobile data as backup, but overall it has been manageable.

I wouldn't say Laggere is fully stuck. There have been improvements, but very slow. I have seen many small supermarkets, more rental options and also slightly improved bus movements. But yeah, road conditions are still the same. There aren't any visible upgrades like planned layouts or better drainage.

Roads might be getting better, but the waste situation is still 2010 level. The Mark It Red campaign is great on X, but on the ground in Laggere inner roads, the collection is still hit-or-miss. People still dump waste near the stormwater drains at night. Unless they fix the stormwater drain encroachment near the bridge, the improvement is just cosmetic. One heavy rain and the new roads are underwater again.

Dependence on BMTC in West Bangalore is brave! Jokes aside, the Laggere Main Road connectivity is decent. But if you’re heading to Rajajinagar, the Green Line Metro from Mahalakshmi Layout is a godsend. Take a feeder bus or shared auto to the metro station. It cuts your commute by half and you avoid the dust and chaos of the Laggere-Peenya stretch.

Laggere is pretty chill for families. I have seen folks raising kids here with no big problems. It's not luxury living but very sustainable and safe. You get all basic needs like medical shops, hospitals, ATMs etc nearby and my daughter goes to Orchid International which is around 3-4 km from our apartment. Also you got many preschool to primary/secondary right in the hood so your 6 year old won’t be stuck on a crazy traffic every day

Since your kid is turning 6, you might want to look at schools slightly outside Laggere but still nearby, like Orchids The International School or National Public School in the surrounding areas. The local schools in Laggere are fine for primary, but for long-term CBSE/ICSE exposure, you'll likely end up busing them to Rajajinagar or Basaveshwara Nagar. Luckily, most of those school buses do service the Laggere main roads.

Hey not gonna lie, if you are looking for something like Prestige high-rise with gym and pool, that’s more common in places like JR Nagar and Rajajinagar. Laggere is catching up but it’s still growing. you can find some clean apartments with basic facilities in smaller blocks like Narasimhaswamy Nagar though.

Laggere does not only have old houses. There are newer apartment blocks - usually 3-5 floors, with decent maintenance, lifts, parking and security. Anyway, don’t expect luxury amenities like big clubhouses. Areas closer to main roads and Peenya side tend to have slightly better options. If you want modern basics at a reasonable rent, Laggere works. If you want a township vibe, you’ll probably have to look elsewhere.
Himanshu Tiyagi
10 Feb 26
Laggere is definitely heavy on independent houses and those 20x30 sites with G+2 floors. If you're looking for Prestige or Sobha style mega-complexes with 20+ amenities right inside Laggere, you’ll be disappointed. Most 'apartments' here are small standalone blocks (4-8 units) with just a lift and basic CCTV. It’s great for low maintenance costs, but don’t expect a swimming pool or a clubhouse.
Rajesh Kumar
12 Feb 26
I think this area has a mix of both. Some clean, decent apartments and a few that you want to avoid at all costs. There are some standalone homes also, and if you are on a budget choosing them over some fancy society would be the right choice.

Same!! I shifted here for cheap rent but I moved out after a year. Bangalore can be pretty expensive and Laggere seems like a good deal for the space but I feel the area mostly works for temporary living, not settling down. I agree the area feels messy, noisy, and chaotic. There's also limited hangout spots. The constant traffic on main roads also adds up. But yea, saving money does feel like an achievement but only temporarily. If you prefer a good quality of lifestyle then no it's not worth it wasting time here just for few bucks. You can check out Nandini Layout, it's more residential, quieter and has parks and green spaces
Rakesh SV

I have been living in Kempegowda Layout for the past five years. I agree that Laggere is more affordable compared to other areas when it comes to rent. But traffic congestion is a real challenge here, so you either get used to it to enjoy the lower rents or consider moving to a nearby area. On the bright side, there’s plenty to explore around Laggere, like ISKCON Bangalore and Bengaluru Palace.

I used to work around Peenya and stayed in Laggere for a while. Honestly, daily commute is easier compared to far-off East Bangalore. You can stay in Laggere if you work in Peenya or Yeswanthpur. The distance is short, maybe 3-6 km. Traffic exists, especially in the evenings around Outer Ring Road, Laggere Main Road, and market areas, and roads get crowded. You can commute in the morning to avoid traffic. On the housing side, rental options are fairly affordable. There are decent 2 BHK homes available in the Rs. 10,000 - Rs. 15,000 range per month. It's affordable compared to other nearby areas.

I live near Nandini Layout junction side, and I commute to Peenya for work. In the morning it is fine, but evenings are tough. Around 6:30 pm, the stretch from Laggere Main Road towards Nandini Layout 8th Main starts slowing down as roads get packed with buses and autos. Another problem spot is the small road near the Laggere vegetable market side, close to the milk booth area, where vendors occupy half the road in the evening.

I live in Kempegowda Layout, near Laggere, and commuting to Peenya can be quite hectic. Morning traffic is usually heavy because of regular commuters and school buses. It’s safer to start early, around 7-8 am works well. Returning by 4 pm is also better, as traffic tends to be lighter compared to other peak hours.

Well, it depends in where you work. If you work in West or North Bangalore. Laggere’s proximity to Peenya and metro access often reduces commute time, but during peak-hour traffic can still cause delays.
The area is well connected to main roads, which makes commuting fairly smooth. A few lanes could be cleaner, but essentials are always close by.
