We got our house renovated in 2021 and while things were underway, there were so many questions in my mind. I am a curious person with a knack to know about even the smallest things. In my conversation with the electrician who was re-doing our home theatre, I learnt that parallel connections are used in domestic wiring. I asked him why is parallel arrangement used in domestic wiring. He gave me a reasonable explanation. I am going to share the same with you.

He said that in a parallel circuit the electrons flow in several directions. Different parts of the circuit are connected in different branches. If a circuit breaks in a single direction, electric current will flow in another direction.
