Summary
To install a horizontal geyser, first mark the mounting points according to the geyser’s measurements. Drill the holes and securely fix the mounting holders. Hang the geyser carefully, apply Teflon tape to the pipe threads, and connect the water pipes. Fill the tank and check for leaks before switching it on. For safe installation, hire a professional electrician.

Last month, I installed a geyser in my bathroom in a horizontal position. I hired an electrician for the installation, and while he was doing the work, I observed each step carefully. I am sharing the process so you can understand how a horizontal geyser is installed.

  1. First, the electrician checked the distance between the mounting holes of the geyser. In my case, the distance was 250 mm. He marked two points horizontally on the wall according to the mounting-hole distance.

  2. Next, he checked the position of the water inlet and outlet. He made sure they were close to and above the angle valves so that standard 1-foot to 1.5-foot hose pipes could be connected easily.

  3. After marking the points, he drilled two holes in the wall. He then inserted the mounting holders into the drilled holes and hammered them carefully to make sure they had properly penetrated the wall.

  4. Once the holders were fixed, he tightened them by turning them clockwise. After checking that they were secure, he lifted the geyser and carefully hung it on the holders.

  5. Next, he applied Teflon tape around the pipe threads. This helps create a tight connection and reduces the chances of water leakage.

  6. Before connecting the pipes, he opened the inlet angle valve for a short time to flush out any dust or debris from the water line.

  7. He then connected one end of the pipe to the geyser and the other end to the bathroom water connection. He opened the hot and cold water angle valves and opened the tap to allow trapped air to escape from the geyser tank.

  8. After confirming that the tank was filled and there were no leaks, he switched on the geyser. He adjusted the temperature knob according to the required temperature.

  9. Finally, I noticed that the red indicator light switched off automatically when the selected temperature was reached. The geyser started heating again when the water temperature dropped below the set temperature.

For this type of work, you should hire a professional electrician to ensure the installation is done safely. I hope this helps you understand the horizontal geyser installation process.
