Firstly, you will need to submit an affidavit mentioning the current name, the new name, current address, and reason for changing. It should be signed by 2 gazetted officers (along with the stamp).
Then, you will have to advertise the change of name in a local leading daily newspaper containing your new name, old name, DOB, husband’s name or father’s name, and home address.
After that, send the advertisement’s copy with all the necessary documents to the Department of Publication for the completion of the name changing procedure.
You will be required to visit the property registry office once the name is legally changed and submit self-attested proofs regarding your new name along with a nominal fee.
Then, respective officers and an inquiry will verify the documents and check whether the name change is genuine.
After the verification, your name will be updated on the property records.

I will always suggest getting your property documents updated as soon as possible. There are many properties that are sold illegally and might have more than one owner. Get your property registered as soon as you buy it. Since I live in Tamil Nadu, I know how things work here.
