Lifeline consumers are those with a contracted load of 1 kW and energy consumption up to 100 kWh per month. Those who do not fall under the Lifeline category of consumers have a different rate chart. Over 300 kWh per month: Rs. 6.50 per kWh

Energy prices were previously increased by the Uttar Pradesh (UP) government for all property kinds, including residential, agricultural, and commercial. Tariff increases ranged between 12 and 15 percent. But, the regulation surcharge of 4.28 percent was dropped. So, the actual tariff rise was about 7.4%.
Charges for urban residential consumers were increased from Rs 4.90 to Rs 5.50 per unit for the first 150 units of usage. Between 150 and 300 units of power, the cost per unit was increased from Rs. 5.40 to Rs. 6. For consumption of between 301 and 500 units, the costs increased from Rs 6.20 to Rs 6.50, and from Rs 6.50 to Rs 7 for consumption of more than 500 units.
