A frame structure is something that has a combination of beam, column, and slab to resist the gravity. These structures are used to get past the larger forces developed due to massive loading. Frames can be generally composed of any materials. These include RCC, steel, wood, etc. I am listing some advantages of frame structures below.

• Due to simple geometry, the construction is faster as compared to typical walled structures.

• The durability and stability of the structures is higher.

• High rise or multi-storey structures can be constructed easily.

• Framed structures can resist vibrations efficiently and thus, they are considered ideal for factory buildings.

• These structures are very stable and can resist earthquakes.

• Wooden frame

Wood has a number of advantages, including beauty, versatility, durability, a high strength-to-weight ratio, superior electrical insulation, low thermal inductance, and exceptional low-temperature strength. It has a great capacity for shock absorption. It can handle high over-loads for brief periods of time. It may readily be bent into a sharp curve. It can be finished in a variety of ways for both decorative and defensive purposes

• Concrete frame

buildings are both durable and cost-effective. As a result, they can be utilised with practically any type of walling material. Brick, concrete block or stone masonry walls are among the more durable alternatives. Lighter choices include light steel drywall partitions or wood studs covered with sheeting boards

• Steel frame

These structures are supported by a steel framework that bears all of the weight. Steel sections make up the columns, beams, and girders in these structures. These structures should be properly braced to withstand wind and seismic effects. The partitions and outside walls of these structures are often made of fire-resistant and other light materials. As a result, steel-framed structures are similar to RCC-framed structures.

• Due to the lack of large load-bearing walls and other factors, the dead load is minimised

• Every finished floor slab serves as a rain and sun shield for the lower floors
