Hi Buddy, I have recently relocated to Maharashtra, due to my work location. After settling here, I started learning about the various ways by which I can pay the utility bills in Maharashtra. I was curious about the utility rates like the water charges, 1 unit electricity charges, and so on in Maharashtra.  Pay your electricity and other utility bills using credit cards through NoBroker and earn reward points on your card. It was during this time, that one of my friends informed me that according to the proposals, unit costs will be Rs 1.45 for those consuming less than 50 units and Rs 2.60 for those consuming 51 to 75 units till July 31, 2022. Regarding Mahadiscom’s bill, I have gone through Manjot’s answer. I completely agree with her answer about finding the BU code in electricity bill Mahavitaran. I followed all the steps that she mentioned to find the BU code.  She described how to locate the BU code on the online payment for other charges page. Aside from that, I soon discovered that there is another technique of how to find billing unit from consumer numbers. First and foremost, there is no "Find My Billing Unit" option on the MSEB website. When you look through it, you won't find anything like that. However, using your MSEB 12-digit consumer number, you can locate your MSEB billing unit via the complaint registration page,
  • Visit the
MSEB's complaint submission page
  • Fill up your customer number
  • Go to a different part of the page
That's it; you may now see your personal information, such as your name, address, and billing unit or BU in electricity bill. I would like to extend my gratitude towards her answer, as she mentioned how to find the consumer number in the electricity bill. I would like to conclude my answer here about 1 unit electricity charges in Maharashtra, along with how to find the BU using the complaint registration page. I hope this helps:) Read More: What Is BU Code In Electricity Bill Maharashtra? Where Is Consumer Number In Electricity Bill Maharashtra?

My native city is Kolkata and there I have not seen the BU number on the bill so I needed to know the BU meaning in electricity bill since I was going to stay in the new city for some years. I asked my colleague about it and he said it is the abbreviation for Billing unit. It is basically the sub-division code and can be found on the top of the bill.
