When I was planning to buy a house, I was not in need and also was not having a budget to buy a multi-storied house. Also, I stay with my aged parents. Hence, stairs would cause pain for them. As a result, I decided to purchase a one-storied house in Bangalore, through NoBroker. I was amazed by their listings of various modern and low cost one storey house designs. I would happily share a few design ideas that I witnessed with you guys.

Last year we spent a 10days holiday in West Bengal and stayed in several houses. Two of them were 1.5 story houses and it was a great experience to live there. The 1.5 story house plans with master on main floor are very common there. I have never seen such beautiful houses before and these 1.5 story houses were new to many of my friends as well. I checked out several 1.5 story house styles there and loved the idea. Most of the houses have the master suite and the main living spaces on the main level and additional bedrooms on the second level. I believe it is a brilliant idea for those people who construct houses for renting purposes only. Many friends can stay together and have their own privacy in such types of houses easily. What is a 1.5 story house?

1.5 story house falls between a 1 story house and 2 story house. They provide the best of both worlds where only a portion of the house includes a second floor living area and the rest remains one story. They have minor rooms added in the attic. 

There can be many 1.5 story house floor plans but most of these houses have the bedroom on the main floor and additional bedrooms on the extra floor. Many people even do not build any bedrooms on the extra floor so it totally depends upon the owner and his demands.

However the 1.5 story house plans with master on main floor seemed the best to me.
