What are the Requirements for AC Installation?

There are some basic and specific requirements for AC installation which may differ depending on the type of AC. Let me first walk you through some basic things required for AC installation.

1. You should install the AC in a room with airtight space. It should have property functioning doors and Windsor, to avoid leakage of cool air. 

2. The room should also have enough power supply to support the operation of the unit.

3. I also learned you should preferably have curtains and a false ceiling in the room, which will reduce heat transfer from the outside to the inside of the room.

4. Also, as mentioned in the previous answer, make sure you have a grounding connection and a fixed electrical point in the room, connected to an electrically protected circuit.

5. Another major requirement is the provision of drainage of condensation, which means the room should have an easy installation of drain pipe.

What are the Requirements for Split AC Installation?

Split AC has two components: indoor and outdoor units. During our installation process, I learned about the following requirements.

1. The wall should be at least 6 inches thick to mount the indoor AC unit. Also, the height of the room should be at least 9 feet.

2. You should also have some free space, of at least 5 inches from the side of the indoor AC unit. Likewise, there should be some space, of at least 12 inches from the top of the AC unit. This is for better air circulation.

How to Install Split AC on Wall?

Hello, the air conditioner installation requirements include a closed indoor enclosure, an open exterior area, an electricity power supply of 220 Vac. and more. We recently purchased a 1.5 ton Samsung AC and had to get it installed in our bedroom. So, we looked over all these requirements to make the installation process easier for us. I am sharing the detailed list of requirements with you below. 

What are the Things Required for AC Installation?

1. You first need to have a closed indoor enclosure that has a thermal capacity that matches the capacity of the AC. You need a wall that has no inclinations and can handle the weight of the AC’s interior unit. 

2. Next, you need an open outdoor area to place the outdoor unit of your AC. 

3. This is more of a directional-based requirement. If you live in a windy place, the outdoor unit should be installed in the direction in which the wind does not come in contact with the air discharge of the unit.

4. You would require an electricity supply of 220 Vac. You need to ensure that the frequency and the voltage of the supply are at a level with the rated voltage. Also, check that the electricity supply doesn’t undergo any voltage fluctuations.

5. You must have a fixed electrical point with an electrically protected circuit. This point should have enough capacity for the current of the AC and must be close to the unit.

6. Make sure that you have a grounding connection.

7. You need an installation kit under the air conditioner installation requirements.

8. A pipe with a maximum pipe length in the AC between 9,000 and 12,000 BTU/hr is 15 m.

9. A pipe with a maximum pipe length in the AC between 18,000 and 24,000 BTU/hr is 30 m.

10. A minimum pipe length of 3 m.
