I have red oxide flooring in my home. Red oxide flooring tiles are indeed a good choice for people looking for a traditional, earthy flooring style. However, from my experience, I can say that there are a few red oxide flooring disadvantages specially in terms of its installation, and maintenance.

What are the Cons of Red Oxide Flooring?

  1. The difficult installation procedure, which calls for professional labour and constant, break-free application for a flawless finish, is one of its main drawbacks.

  2. Another drawback is sensitivity to dents and scratches, which can be lessened by placing carpets in high-traffic areas.

  3. Its application is also restricted by weather sensitivity; high temperatures can cause the surface to break, therefore indoor areas are a preferable option.

  4. Its natural shine must be maintained with polishing, which can be time-consuming.

  5. Finally, compared to more contemporary options, the limited colour palette restricts design flexibility compared to modern alternatives.

I hope this helps you to decide whether red oxide flooring is good for your space or not!

You're constructing your ideal home and want to use only the best materials. I have also used red oxide flooring in my house. There are terrazzo, stone, marble, bamboo, and tiles to choose from. This is where red oxide flooring comes into play. When you choose classic red oxide flooring, you are choosing a piece of technology rather than a commercial product. So let’s see the disadvantages of red oxide flooring.

Red oxide flooring disadvantages:

  • The options for red oxide flooring are limited. The major disadvantage of red oxide flooring is that you can change things up to a certain limit only. You can only experiment up to a specific amount with trendy designs.

  • To achieve a great finish on the red oxide floor, you'll require experienced labour. Even minor errors can result in cracks and holes on the surface.

  • If red painted floors are exposed to excessive snow or rain, the surface can break due to the red oxide floor's sensitivity to humidity.

  • Because there are no interruptions in the flooring process, it is a time-consuming and constant operation.

  • Any interruptions can have a negative impact on the final product. Additionally, the expense of labour can occasionally increase the total cost of red oxide flooring.

  • Red oxide flooring may crack and produce big gaps if not installed properly. This is due to rapid healing or insufficient water treatment.

Advantages of red oxide flooring:

  • Red oxide flooring is quite cost-effective compared to other forms of flooring.

  • Even if you never brush or dust red oxide flooring, it can last for years.

  • Because it's formed of red volcanic ash, it's also mould and fungus resistant, which is a major worry in a house.

  • The simplest approach to keep your red flooring looking beautiful is to keep them clean on a regular basis.

  • The red oxide flooring is not particularly hard, making them gentle. Even if you walk barefoot on the floor, they seem effortless.

  • Red oxide flooring is smooth and jointless, providing a floor finish that other options such as granite and tile cannot match.

Now you are aware of the red oxide flooring.
