I got my first job in Chennai and my salary wasn’t that much. Most of my close ones asked me to drop the idea of living in Chennai with low income. However, I really wanted to spend a month at least and check whether I can sustain myself there or not. I was successful. So if you ask me

is Chennai a good place to live, I would say yes. Let me share the reasons for it in this answer.

How is Chennai to live?

Chennai is a great place to live in. It is one of the biggest cities in India yet more affordable than Bangalore, Mumbai or Delhi. Let me share in short what I like about his city in points:

  Greenery:

If you love nature and less pollution, choosing Chennai for settling will be great. You will find trees on each side of the roads. In fact, to deal with the pollution, the government there has constructed several parks as well which makes the air fresh and pollution free.

  Rich in culture

Chennai is rich in culture that gets highly reflected in its food. The variety of cuisines that also within a budget-friendly price, makes Chennai a desirable place to live in.

  Beaches:

To get some relief from your busy schedule, going to the beaches is a great option. In Chennai, you will get several of them so just go for it.

Apart from this, it has

  • Good roads making travelling from one place to another smooth and easy

  • Full of well-known health care centres

  • An Ample number of educational institutions helps people to excel in the educational field smoothly

What are some of the best places to live in Chennai and why?

Since I was a bit tensed, I lived in an affordable area and rented a 1RK in Ashok Nagar. Some of the affordable areas of this city where you can live are:

  Affordable places:
  • KK Nagar

  • MMDA Colony

  • Kodambakkam

These places are safe as well so you can live here anytime.

If you get a good salary and want to live in a polished area, you can live in

  Posh areas:
  • Anna Nagar

  • Besant Nagar

  • Mylapore

  • Adyar

  • Kotturpuram

  • R.A Puram

  • Vadapalani and more

On average, Rs 30,000 is good to live in Chennai if you are ready to sacrifice a bit. If you want to lead a good and luxurious life, you will need to have a salary of Rs 65,000 at least.

Hope this helps you to know

is Chennai a good place to live or not.
