How to transfer gas connection online?

My husband has a transferable job. I have to move my house every few years. The entire process was incredibly taxing before I figured out how to conduct gas connection transfer online, how to apply for water connection online, how to pay gas bills online etc. Now, the process doesn't seem as looming as before. 

My gas distributor is Indane. Thanks to their online gas transfer and online portability of LPG connection. I could easily shift the gas to my new home. I just had to submit the address proof of the new house to the authorities. 

This procedure works for transferring Indane gas connection from one city to another. It even works to transfer the connection within the same city. 

• You just need to visit your current Indane distributor with the SV (Subscription Voucher) that was given by the distributor when the new gas connection was fixed. 

• Tell the distributor about your transfer requirement. 

• In case of the same city transfer, your details in the company records will be changed without further documentation... 

• If your distributor does not serve at the new location, you will need to submit a transfer Termination Voucher (TTV) mentioning your new address. 

• You will need to take the TTV, DGCC booklet and a new proof of address to an Indane LPG supplier near your new house. 

• The new distributor will process your TTV into a new Transfer Subscription Voucher (TSV) and give you a new consumer number

• All of your details will be updated in the DGCC booklet.

• This is how to transfer gas with ease. 

• Your details will be updated in records and your new address will be used for any gas-related bills.

Hi buddy, I shifted from Pune to Chandigarh recently and was looking for the transfer of gas connection. As Basu shared the procedure for Indane, I’ll be discussing a method for Bharat Gas here. 

How to transfer gas connection from one place to another: Within the city

1. Visit your existing Bharat Gas distributor while carrying the original subscription voucher.

2. The distributor will go through the document to check for the consumer number and other details.

3. You’ll receive a transfer advice after the authentication of your voucher. This will be valid for a period of three months.

4. After moving to the new place, carry the transfer advice to the nearby distributor in your locality

5. Submit it and you’ll get a new consumer number. Needed changes will be made in your record.

Please remember that you don't need to surrender your LPG cylinder when shifting within the same city. If your new residence falls under the current distributor’s serving area, just a change in the official address is required. Take your new address proof to the distributor and get it updated in the records.

Unfortunately, Bharat doesn’t provide the facility of online gas connection transfer. Hence, you need to make the change through offline means only.

Bharat Gas connection transfer: Between cities

1. Contact your current distributor and provide them the consumer number along with the subscription voucher.

2. Fill and submit the transfer form while mentioning your new address for service.

3. The process for transfer will be activated.
