Hey, let me help you understand how to tile around a toilet cistern. So, the process involves you using some tools. What you must do is cut tiles and shape them around the toilet to fit the whole bathroom flooring well. I will tell you how to do this through a detailed process. I did this work with the help of a friend a while ago. Let me take you through the method.
Method for Tiling around Toilet Cistern
Use a tile scribe, which is a tool that etches a cut line into the tile. The rtool helps ensure the tile snaps where you want it. So, what you need to do is match the tile shape around the toilet.
Use tile nippers, which are an industrial-strength tool, like fingernail clippers. Wear gloves for safety and begin at the corner of the tile that has to be cut and squeeze the handles of the nippers together to make the top and bottom blades take small bites out of the tile.
Start using the tool more carefully as you near the score line.
As the toilet base will cover the cut tile edge, your cuts don’t need to be perfect. But, take the time to dry fit the tiles in place to ensure your cuts are generally accurate.
You can use plastic spacers for the grout lines when dry-fitting the tiles. If you are going to rest a removable toilet flange on top of the installed tiles, ensure you remove it before dry fitting.
If your dry fit lines up properly, you can then set these tiles in place in the same way you did the rest of the floor.
This is all from my side.
