on how to renovate rental apartment,

Can you renovate a rented apartment?

Yes, you definitely can. There are no rules or regulations mentioned in the rental agreement against the renovation of an apartment. You just need to make sure, the original structure of the house is not altered or damaged.

Here are things I have done to renovate my apartment: Blinds :

To divide my house into different parts, I have hung bamboo blinds. They are cheap, easily available and soften the sunlight without completely blocking it.

Cabinet knobs:

I have replaced boring black knobs with new gold ones. I unscrewed the knobs off all the cabinets and kept them safe. Before vacating the house, I will screw the original knobs in place.

Sticker :

To make my kitchen look elegant. I have added stickers on the tiled floor. It has completely changed the look of my old faded tiles.

Plants:

I have put a sleuth of indoor plants that will grow in low maintenance. Tons of greenery in my house help me stabilise my mood as well. I would suggest you start with snake plants, money plants and other difficult-to-kill varieties.

Walls:

You can hang art on the walls with washi tape or use peelable wallpaper to make the walls look cohesive. You can use a tacked-up piece of fabric for the job as well.

We had given our 2BHK apartment for rent since 2017 and everything was perfect. However since the last two years no such tenant was living here for long. We thought our rent was high but later, upon asking our neighbours got to know that our rent was actually cheaper than theirs. I called over my friend and asked her whether she can tell the reason why our tenants are leaving within a short time. She said that we need to renovate our house or else no tenant is going to live here for long. I had no idea how to do it and attract tenants so asked her

how to renovate rental apartment and get customers? She suggested a lot of tips that indeed helped me so let me share them with you

Apartment renovation tips:
  • Colour your walls. We had coloured our walls white but some got dirty which might have annoyed some tenants so we got  fresh coats of paint on our walls.

  • Previously the living room had simple lights but later, we installed several decorative lights and also got designs on a wall thereby making it look elegant and stylish

  • We had no such wall shelves in any of our rooms so opted for installing some in the bedroom, dining room and kitchen as well

  • The lock of the bathroom was not working and I believe that is one of the major reasons why tenants left. We got all of such locks fixed during the renovation

  • Previously we had installed a very small mirror and later I realised that short people might not have been able to look at themselves in it so installed a bigger one so that even children can see themselves in it.

These were the tips she suggested to me for renovating a rental apartment and it absolutely worked for me. It has been 1 year and 2 months since a family has been living here and it seems they are going to be here for a couple of years more.

You must have got your answer about how to renovate rental apartment so just opt for it and be sure to get tenants easily.
