Steps to Remove Vinyl Tile Flooring from Concrete
The process may look simple but it indeed is a tough task to remove and install a flooring. The professionals made it look smooth, though. But if you’re doing it yourself, you’ll realise the trickiness. Okay, here’s how they did it.
First, they cleaned the space properly, and cut through the tiles using a utility knife. They also used a heat gun to soften the adhesive glue and lift the tile completely.
After removing the tile, we saw there was tile adhesive which I figured needed to be removed. Here, I learned it was tricky. Because the way you’re going to remove the adhesive depends on the type of adhesive used. We had an anti-slag glue, which is also known as adhesive mastic. They removed it using a scraper, but before that they poured hot water just to soften the mastic.
After removing the tiles, they cleaned the area again, because obviously, it was a mess. They also did some levelling to smooth down the surface for another installation.
That’s the process they followed. It actually took them a few hours to do it, but I think if you do it by yourself, it may take longer if you’re not skilled enough. So, do contact a renovator. I hope you get an idea of how to remove vinyl tile from concrete.
