• Initially, I took some paper towels and dabbed the stain carefully to remove as much of the nail polish as I could. I took care not to rub it because I didn't want the stain to spread and get worse. 

• After this, I got some nail polish remover that I had at home that had acetone in it. 

• Lightly dabbed the stained area with a cotton ball that had a bit of the remover on it. I was relieved when I saw that the polish had started to come off quickly. 

• To stop the stain from spreading, I made sure to work from the outside towards the centre. 

• I saw that most of the stain had vanished after a few dabs. 

• After that, I also used warm, soapy water to wash away any leftover remover, and finally used a gentle cloth to dry the floor.
