TRACES, short for TDS reconciliation and correction enabling system, is an undertaking of the Income Tax Department of India for easy filing of TDS/TCS corrections. Here you go with the step by step process.
How to register in TRACES as taxpayer?Go to the official TRACES website at
https://www.tdscpc.gov.in/#
On the left hand side menu, you will see the option to ‘Register as new user’
Hover on it and you will see the option ‘Tax Payer.’ Click on it
Enter your PAN, Date of birth, first name, middle name, last name/surname and verification code
Click on ‘Proceed’
Next add your communication address - house number, block, mobile number and email id
Create a password
Now verify all the details that you have entered and submit
You will receive an activation link on your email id and mobile number.
Click on that link to activate your TRACES account and login successfully.
