In order to break the monotony of plain tiles and add a decorative accent, I decided to install a mosaic tile border on the walls of my bathroom. However, I had no idea about how to install tile border on wall? Using a chalk line and a level, the expert first measured and marked the border's intended height to make sure it was straight.
After cleaning and drying, the wall surface was lightly sanded to increase adherence. The professional also covered the designated area with thinset mortar in small portions using a notched trowel.
For an even fit, the mosaic border tiles were tapped and pressed into position.
To keep the spacing constant, tile spacers were used.
After the thinset dried, a rubber float was used to apply grout in between the tiles.
After wiping away excess grout with a damp sponge and letting it dry, a sealer was applied for moisture protection.
Caulking the edges was the last step to achieve a smooth, water-resistant finish.
If you want a perfect finish, installing a tile border is definitely not a DIY project, and you must hire a professional for this.
