In my home, while walking I noticed some minor uneven tiles on the floor, which was most probably because of improper installation. This is not something you can fix by yourself, also, I had no idea how to fix uneven tiles on floor. So I hired a professional to do the job. They sanded the floor and properly grouted the tiles to make it even.
How to Fix Uneven Tile Floor?
Since sanding the tiles was difficult, the professionals chose to create a small “ramp” using extra grout to even out the height difference. They only did this because the unevenness was very minor, more than that would have made the grout ramp very noticeable.
They filled the grout line as usual between the tiles.
Then, they took the grout float again and carefully applied grout against the higher edge of the lipped tile, filling the joint up to the top of the raised tile.
While cleaning the excess grout with a sponge, the professionals shaped the grout so it slowly sloped up from the lower tile to the higher tile, making a smooth transition.
This method helped in hiding the unevenness visually and made the floor safer.
