I have been noticing this squeaky sound in a certain area of the wooden floor in the living room. This may sound like a harmless noise, but it\'s quite frightening when at night. I planned to fix this issue on my own. I started looking up methods on how to fix squeaky wood floors and learned about quite a few. Among them, using wood filler and lubricants seemed to be the easiest.

How to Repair a Squeaky Wood Floor?

As I mentioned above, using wood filler and lubricants seemed to be easiest for me, and thus, this is what I used. Here’s how you can do it as well.

  1. First, determine the exact area from which the squeaky sound is coming.

  2. After that, clean the area between the floorboards with a vacuum cleaner.

  3. Next, use a putty knife to apply the wood filler into the small gaps.

  4. Use the liquid fillers whenever you locate larger gaps.

  5. Let this sit for some time to dry properly.

  6. After it has dried properly, you can sand the filler flush.

And that’s about it. This is how to fix squeaky hardwood floors from above. I hope you find these steps easy and helpful.
