How to Declutter a Small Kitchen?

A small kitchen must be strategically organised to maximise space efficiency and declutter. This is how I approached it:

• I began by determining what might be eliminated and what was necessary. I prioritised items used daily and stored seasonal or rarely used items elsewhere.

• Next, I used vertical space to optimise storage. To free up cupboard space, I mounted hooks or shelves for pots, pans, and utensils on the walls. Knife magnet strips saved drawer space as well.

• To minimise room and maintain organization, I combined pantry items into stackable containers. Small objects and utensils were kept organised by using drawer dividers and organisers.

• I reduced the number of appliances on my countertop to just those I used frequently. Bulky or infrequently used appliances like my OTG, and mixer were stored away.

• Lastly, I made it a habit to keep everything organised and I have started reviewing regularly. Clutter was avoided by clearing away after meals and putting everything back where it belonged.

I made my tiny kitchen seem bigger and more manageable for everyday usage by using these techniques to make it more organised and effective. How to declutter your kitchen counters?

1. One of the things I did while setting my kitchen up is that I put all the important stuff such as tea, and coffee, inside the cupboards and the fruit basket plates outside. It's better to be logical while setting your kitchen. Think about what you need the most in your kitchen. If it's a cup of tea that can give you extra energy keep the cups, tea, saucepan, and sugar packets handy. 

2. Keep the glasses, cups, spoons, and fancy china inside the cupboards. If you have a family of four you should keep a few crockery items handy.

3. Even in a normal scenario arranging food can be a little bit challenging. You should keep all the foods such as pasta, and rice, in separate baskets. At times, we find it difficult to keep food items in different baskets and end up stuffing them in one. Even if one food gets infected, all the food gets damaged if kept in one container. Although using a different container is a hefty task, it is more convenient. You can arrange the containers in the cabinets to make them look decorative.

4. My mom told me to keep the heavy items in the lower cabinets and the lighter ones in the upper cabinets. That way it becomes easy to take out the items.

5. Always wash your utensils on time. Don't keep them for a longer period of time. Doing this will only invite insects and flies inside the house.
