First, cut the power. Safety always comes first so unplug it or flip the MCB.
Once that’s done, gently lift the front panel of the AC. It usually just snaps open at the sides.
You’ll see the air filters right there. Slide them out carefully. They’re probably covered in a thick layer of dust, so take them to the tap and wash them with plain water.
If they’re really greasy, a tiny bit of mild soap works wonders. Let them air dry completely in the shade.
While those are drying, look at the cooling fins, they are the metal grid inside. Use a soft brush or a vacuum with a brush attachment to gently whisk away any dust. Be super careful here because those fins are thin and bend easily.
After this, grab a damp microfiber cloth and wipe down the blower blades and the outer casing. If you see a little tray where water collects, that’s the drain pan. Give it a wipe to prevent any slimy buildup.
Once the filters are completely dry, slide them back in, snap the cover shut and you’re done.
