Lemon and Salt Scrub:

• Cut a lemon in half and sprinkle salt on the pulp.

• Rub the lemon directly onto the greasy areas of your chimney.

• Mix hot water with mild laundry detergent in a bucket.

Baking Soda and Vinegar are common kitchen supplies that you find in almost all kitchens. He told me to make a mix of those ingredients in a tub and immerse the filter in it. After leaving it there for a few hours, he asked me to scrub it using a damp cloth. 

• Using Caustic Soda

He said that this method is similar to the method mentioned above. For this, he told me to take out the filter and sprinkle some caustic soda over. After that, he asked me to pour some boiling water over it and leave it there for a few hours. Following that, he told me to scrub it using a damp cloth.
