Hello Ashi. I can tell you how to clean carrier AC filter with you. Before touching anything, turn off the power at the main switch. You don't want the unit trying to pull in air while you have the front panel open.
Then, look for small spaces on the left and right sides of the indoor unit. Gently pull them toward you to lift the front panel. It should click into a self supporting position, staying open like the hood of a car.
You’ll see two mesh screens. Usually, there’s a small tab at the bottom of each. Push the tab up slightly to unhook it, then slide the filters down and out.
Take the mesh filters to your tap. Run lukewarm water through them from the back side, so the dust is pushed off rather than through the mesh. If they are very greasy, use a drop of mild liquid soap and a very soft brush. Avoid using hot water as it can warp the plastic.
You can then shake off the excess water and let them air dry. Don’t let direct sunlight come into contact as it can make the plastic brittle. Once completely dry, you can slide them back into the tracks, click the tabs into place, and snap the front cover shut.

A few days ago, I noticed that the airflow from my AC was not as strong as usual, but I was not sure what the issue was. So, I hired an AC technician to fix it. After checking the unit, he informed me that the filter was dusty. He started by turning off the AC, then opened the front cover to begin the cleaning process. I have shared the detailed Carrier AC filter cleaning steps below.
How to do Carrier Split AC Filter Cleaning?
Here are the step-by-step instructions for cleaning the AC filter.
First, the technician turned off the air conditioner to stop unfiltered air from circulating during cleaning.
He opened the front cover of the AC unit and carefully removed the filter.
He checked the filter for dust and dirt buildup.
When he saw a lot of dust, he used a vacuum cleaner with an attachment to clean off the loose particles.
Since vacuuming was not enough, he soaked the filter in a mix of water and white vinegar for about an hour, then rinsed it with clean water.
After rinsing, he placed the filter outside to air dry completely.
Once the filter was fully dry, he put it back into the unit and closed the front cover.
Finally, he checked the AC to make sure it was running properly after the cleaning.
In this way, he cleaned the AC filter. I hope now you get an idea of the split AC filter cleaning.

Just be sure to let them dry fully before reinstalling them in your unit.
