How to Clean Your Mattress?

1. Combine 2 to 4 drops of laundry detergent, 3 tablespoons of baking soda, and 230 grams of hydrogen peroxide.

2. Cover the entire stained area with a good quantity of baking soda. Let it sit overnight.

3. Fill a spray bottle with your solution and apply it to the stained area.

4. Vacuum the mattress thoroughly using a vacuum attachment designed for upholstery. There will be a residue coating on your mattress when this mixture has dried. 

5. Finally, vacuum the residue.

• Now, I sprayed the vinegar solution all over the mattress and pat dried it using the dry cloth. 

• Following that, let it air dry for some time. You can also use a fan for that. 

• Finally, I vacuumed the mattress again and covered it using a mattress protector.

Below, you’ll find the entire method to clean your mattress for a fresh feel.

1. You must start by vacuuming the mattress. However, the wise thing to do is to first gather your sheets and bed coverings and launder them. Then, come back to vacuuming the mattress. This will save you time.

2. Next, take a pack of baking soda and sprinkle it over the mattress to deodorise it. You should use 3 boxes of baking soda for the best results. To elevate the fragrance, you can add essential oil to the baking soda. 

3. Now, let's cater to the stains. In a spray bottle of hydrogen peroxide, add 3 tablespoons of baking soda and 1 tablespoon of clear dish soap. Close the bottle and shake it well. 

4. Spray the created solution over the stain and use a brush to scrub over the stain. Then, gently pat over the stained area. 

5. In this step, open the windows to air out the mattress.

6. It is time to flip the mattress and rotate it. Add the bed coverings and the sheets over the mattress.

First, strip the bed and wash the blankets, pillowcases, and sheets in hot water to get rid of dust mites. However, you should always follow the recommended care instructions to prevent potential fading or shrinkage.

Check your mattress for smells, discoloration, stains, and other signs to see if a particular area requires extra attention.

If you want to clean a mattress, then keep these supplies ready:

• Coldwater

• A gentle, unscented, and bleach-free laundry detergent

• An enzyme cleaner or dish soap

• Baking soda

• Towels or rags for cleaning

Look for areas of discoloration and stains. Spot-clean these areas carefully using this method:

• Apply the cleaning solution to a clean cloth

• Blot the stained part with the cloth gently

• Apply cold water to another clean cloth

• Blot the stained part with the water-soaked cloth

• Repeat the process, if necessary.

After removing any visible stains and letting the mattress cover dry completely, apply a thin layer of baking soda over the mattress’s entire surface. Baking soda will help in absorbing moisture and neutralizing odor. After that, leave the baking soda on the mattress for some hours.

Flip the mattress over, and clean the underside of your mattress using the same process.
