How to Check Freon Level in AC?
Here is a method you can use to check the freon level in your AC:
Turn off the AC unit and unplug it to avoid any electrical hazards.
Locate the service valves on your AC. There are two kinds of valves, one is the larger one and the other is the smaller one. These valves are present near the compressor or on the refrigerant lines.
Next up, attach the refrigerant gauges to the service valves. The blue hose must be connected to the larger valve and the red hose must be connected to the smaller valve.
Keep the yellow hose disconnected for this process.
Once you attach the gauges properly, switch on the AC and let it run for a few minutes to stabilise. Observe the pressure readings on the gauges.
Check the manufacturer’s specifications or ask a professional to determine the ideal freon pressure range for your unit.
Compare the readings on the gauges with the recommended range. If the pressure is significantly below the recommended range, this may be a sign of low freon levels.
If you see low levels or abnormal pressure readings, consult an AC technician.
This is all I have to share. I hope you now know the method for checking freon level in home AC.
