Here’s how to change name in BESCOM bill,
Go to the Online Services section on the official website (
https://www.bescom.co.in/bescom/main/home)
Choose “Name Change / Fast Track Name Change.” You’ll be asked to log in or register with your consumer number and mobile/Aadhaar details.
You can download the Name Change / Transfer application form (often called Form 13 Transfer of Installation) from the BESCOM portal or collect it at your local/sub-division office.
The transfer fee is usually Rs. 100 to Rs. 250 for residential (LT) connections; fees can vary by connection type. You can pay online via BESCOM portal or at the BESCOM subdivision office when submitting documents.
After submission a Junior Engineer (JE) will visit to verify documents and the meter.
Once verified, BESCOM updates the name usually within 15 to 30 days or by the next billing cycle.
You can monitor status online using your request ID (acknowledgement number) on BESCOM’s Track Name Change page.
Commonly required documents include:
Sale deed / property ownership proof (e.g., registered sale deed)
Latest BESCOM electricity bill
Photo ID & address proof (Aadhaar, PAN, passport)
Khata / property tax receipt (if applicable)
NOC (No Objection Certificate) from previous owner or builder
Photograph of the meter & its serial number
