How to apply for TDS refund ?

You may need to apply for a TDS refund when the tax amount deducted is more than the actual tax liability. At times, you will see that the investment projections declared during the beginning of the financial year may not match the actual investments made at the end of the year. That’s when you need to claim refund. So, how to apply for TDS refund online in India? I will share the process with you.

How to apply for refund of TDS?

1. File the income tax returns if your employer has deducted more than your actual tax liability under the head of TDS.

2. Enter important information such as the name of your bank, your bank account number, and IFSC.

3. After filing the return it takes time for the income tax officer to verify the returns and after that the money is refunded back to the account. 

How to claim TDS refund online?

1. Go to the  Income Tax Department at

  Incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in.

1. Register yourself on the portal.

2. Log in with your credentials.

3. File your ITR by selecting the relevant ITR Form.

4. Fill in the details on the form and submit.

5. e-verify the submitted form by signing digitally with the help of your Aadhaar-based OTP or net banking account.
