To pay your bounced HDFC Home Loan EMI, you can use online methods like HDFC Net Banking, PayZapp app, or links in SMS. When an HDFC home loan EMI bounces (usually because your bank account didn’t have enough balance for auto-debit), it’s important to settle it quickly to avoid penalties, extra interest, and credit score issues.

    • SMS:

After the bounce, HDFC Bank typically sends an SMS and email notification about the failed payment. So, you can try the link on SMS.

  • HDFC Bank NetBanking Portal:
  • Visit HDFC Bank’s net banking portal.

  • Log in with the required credentials.

  • Tap on “Loan” and choose your loan type.

  • Enter your loan account number and details. Select the overdue/bounced EMI you want to pay. Complete payment securely online (often via net banking or debit card). This portal also lets you pay overdue EMIs easily without going to the branch.

  • You can also pay the bounced EMI using the PayZapp app.

  • Open the PayZapp app.

  • Go to Bills & Recharges, followed by Financial Services, and Loan.

  • Click on payment and pay the overdue EMI.

  • Other UPI or payment apps that support loan repayment (if they list HDFC Bank loan as a payee). You’ll need your loan account number and the outstanding EMI amount (including any penalties).

  • Offline: If online options don’t work or you face issues, visit your HDFC Bank home loan branch. Provide your loan account number. Ask to pay the bounced EMI and any bounce charges. They will accept payment by cheque or online transfer and issue a receipt.

I totally forgot to pay my EMI in the month of January this year so as soon as I remembered it, I went to the bank to ask what needs to be done. I asked the officials- was there any HDFC

home loan EMI bounce charges and learnt there are. Bounce charges need to be given once you miss paying your EMI within the due date. They can be called penalty charges as well so let me share here how much one needs to pay.

How much is the EMI bounce charge?

Different banks might charge a different amount for late EMI but the penalties usually are 1% to 2% on the overdue amount. Some banks charge penal interest as well above the regular interest on your home loan so that needs to be discussed with the bank officials.
